Authorly

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 4, 2026

By using Authorly, you agree to these terms. They are written in plain English on purpose.

What Authorly is

Authorly is a free toolkit that uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to help indie authors with the actually-painful parts of self-publishing — comp titles, Amazon book descriptions, KDP keywords, category placement, trope finding, ad headlines, and author bios. The output is generated by an AI model and can contain inaccuracies. Always verify a book's details, a category's path, or a keyword's character count on Amazon or another reliable source before using it in your published Amazon description, advertising copy, or marketing materials.

Acceptable use

We may rate-limit or block IP addresses that abuse the service.

What we don't promise

Affiliate links

Some links on Authorly may be affiliate links to products (book marketing tools, writing software, etc.) that we believe are useful for indie authors. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This commission helps fund the free tools on this site. We only recommend products we'd recommend regardless of the affiliate relationship. Where required, affiliate relationships are disclosed inline.

Intellectual property

The text you paste belongs to you. The AI-generated output is the output of an AI system — we don't claim copyright on it, and you can use it however you like (subject to the verification caveat above). The Authorly site design, logo, and prompt engineering belong to us.

Liability and risk

You use Authorly at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

If you publish a book description containing AI-generated comp titles and the author or publication year turns out to be wrong, that's on you, not us. We tell you to verify before publishing for exactly this reason.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date will reflect any changes. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ireland.
